Founding History

When the founder of Lutra LLC, Manami Yokota, was 20 years old, she hit a big wall and had a chance to face her life, and realized that even great ideas, technologies, and thoughts would never change the world if there were no one to bring them to life. And she has been making efforts step by step until today to be the one who can bring them to life.

Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to work with professionals with ideas, technologies and thoughts in a global environment. And the experience of launching and growing new businesses became a significant asset and the achievement of one of her goals which she envisioned at the age of 20.

As much as she is grateful for those experiences as an employee, felt how little sand she had left in the hourglass of her life to achieve her dream fully. She strongly felt that she wanted to turn truly sympathized ideas that exist not only in Japan but also the entire world into reality. She decided to focus only on what she wanted to do and what she needed to do for the world. She wants to contribute to the world by aiming for a higher level of the person who can make changes, so she decided to start Lutra.

We will continue to work together with you and devote ourselves to the creation and growth of businesses, regardless of the organization’s size, but that will positively impact the next generation and pass the baton to the future.

Manami Yokota

Founder / CEO

Throughout her career, Manami has built her global strategy, marketing and branding expertise in various international companies.
Prior to founding Lutra, Manami worked as corporate planning manager for a Singapore-based web3 entertainment company, was in charge of budget and cash-flow management. Prior to web3 company, Manami led the strategic planning and execution of the entire font business for both domestic and international market at Morisawa inc, Japanese font leading company. Prior to Morisawa, Manami worked as global product planning for a major Japanese automotive company. Manami was in charge of brand marketing at USJ LLC, the operator of Universal Studios Japan, where Manami contributed to the company’s growth into a social phenomenon. Manami started her first career as global sales and marketing of semiconductors at Sony Corporation.
In 2020, Manami also started to work as a freelancer to provide management support, including business strategy, marketing and branding for a wide range of industries, from long-standing manufacturers to IT venture companies, contributing to clients’ medium-to long-term growth.
